Week 8 Concert with the University of Warwick Percussion Ensemble

On Monday Week 8 UWWO and its small bands joined forces with the University of Warwick Percussion Ensemble to give an unforgettable concert in the Butterworth Hall!

Liquorice Sticks, our clarinet small band, opened the concert with a programme including the famous Turkish March by Mozart. This was then followed by an impressive set from the percussion ensemble. To close the first half, our saxophone small band Feeling Saxy played some well known tunes for the audience including an arrangement of Bring me Sunshine.

In the second half the main band first played a set of pieces we've been working on in term 1, including Concert Prelude by Sparke, as well as the famous Copacabana!

Following this, the final small band performance was given by our flute choir who performed, amongst other pieces, Basse Danse from Peter Warlock's Capriol Suite.

To close, the wonderful Simon Hogg conducted us as we performed our NCBF pieces in preparation for the regionals happening the Sunday after the concert.

In all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening for all those who attended, and we are looking forward to our next concert!
